PCBA (PCB Assembly) refers to the process of mounting components on a bare PCB board, inserting components and realizing soldering. The circuit boards we usually see are all PCBA boards with components soldered on the basis of PCB. PCB is a “bare board” or “uncoated board”. Generally speaking, PCBA reliability tests are divided into ICT test, FCT test, fatigue test, simulated environment test, and aging test. Because any problem with a single material will affect the overall result of the PCBA board, which requires us to have sufficient material detection capabilities, supplier management capabilities, technical analysis capabilities, and reliability testing capabilities.
PCBA reliability test
- ICT test
The ICT test mainly tests the soldering condition of components, the on-off status of circuits, voltage and current values and fluctuation curves, amplitude, and noise.
- FCT test
For the FCT test, the IC program needs to be burned, and then the PCBA board is connected to the load to simulate user input and output, and perform functional detection on the PCBA board to find problems in hardware and software, realize software and hardware joint debugging, and ensure normal front-end manufacturing and soldering.
- Fatigue test
The aging test mainly samples the PCBA board, simulates user use for high-frequency and long-term operation of functions, observes whether there is failure, and judges the probability of test failure, so as to feedback the working performance of the PCBA board in electronic products.
- Simulated environment test
The simulated environment test mainly exposes the PCBA board to extreme values of temperature, humidity, drop, splashing water, and vibration to obtain the test results of random samples, so as to infer the reliability of the entire batch of PCBA boards.
- Aging test
The aging test is a long-term power-on test of the PCBA board, simulating user use, keeping it working and observing whether there is any failure. Electronic products that have passed the aging test can be mass-produced and sold.
I believe that by reading the above content, everyone has a preliminary understanding of PCBA reliability. At the same time, I also hope that everyone can do a good job in summarizing during the learning process, so as to continuously improve their professional level.
